'Giant Lizard Terrorizes Thailand Town' (that should be BLIZZARD)!
It was almost impossible to capture the full extent of the horror that fell upon the town of Trat in South East Thailand on the evening of Monday 6 July 2015. It was dark and the event was a complete surprise. Peter Quest of www.lovelyplanettv.com reports...
(Please also read disclaimer, etc below the video)
(Disclaimer: Although this event really happened, it was not actually a big deal. No one was terrorized (terrorised) in the town as far as I`m aware. It was just very unusual to see. The video should be seen as a Reality/News/Comedy sketch. I adore Thailand and nothing in this video should deter would be tourists from coming. Tourism is vital to the economy of this beautiful country).

The easiest way to contact Peter is by sending him a message through his personal facebook profile page at www.facebook.com/peter.quest.75
Peter from www.lovelyplanettv.com goes on a crazy night out with volunteers and a few Thai friends. Don`t worry, just a little karaoke in this video. The rest is just good fun in Trat Thailand.
In this video, Peter of Lovely Planet tv, takes you around the UV English Club in Trat, Thailand. The video is an overview of voluntary work for English speakers teaching English to local Thai`s of all ages at this informal club and shows the accommodation and other useful information for would be volunteers.
Recently Peter of Lovely Planet tv was very privileged to be invited to a special ceremony at a Temple in Trat, South East Thailand. The ceremony was to initiate a young man into the world of Buddhism as a monk, which is a tradition here in Thailand. Join him at the Temple in this must see video. There is humour in the video too. Watch out for the flinging match!
Join Peter of www.lovelyplanettv.com on a stroll through the town centre of Trat in South East Thailand - a real Thai town with little tourism influence. A must see video for those interested in discovering beautiful Thailand. Take a look at the huge market with it`s local curiosities, the towns architecture and lots more. And end up in a local bar of course.
Peter`s ramblings on facebook in the last few days...
From Peter in Thailand. Thursday 2 July. Local Time: 11.55am... Good Morning... Sawadee Ka (or Sawadee Krab if you`re a man)... I don`t know whether it makes their day as much as it makes mine but every time I walk past the firm of accountants next door to the English Club here in Trat with its huge glass window behind which are a dozen or so computer desks with young Thai ladies sitting working at them we always have a wave and a smile smile emoticon I`m uploading my latest video as I write this... A stroll through Trat Town Centre and Market. Packed with interesting stuff about the town and curious goodies on the market stalls. It`ll be available to view soon. Then I`ll set to work editing the film about the young men here who took their place as Buddhist Monks in the fabulous Temple ceremony I was invited to yesterday. By the way, the week after next when I return to Bangkok, depending on how well my leg is recovering (Seems ok so far), I`ll decide on whether to risk moving onto Malaysia followed by my 3 month filming tour as originally planned, or whether to head back to the UK for a while. Tough decision. My extended Thai visa runs out on the 15th anyway but I could always do a visa border run (over the border into Cambodia for a few hours and then back into Thailand) for a little longer. ..Hmmm...Decisions ...Decisions.
This afternoon I took the opportunity to talk about a few of the issues effecting the planet with one of the older Thai teenagers who comes here to the English Club for lessons. Good to find that for such a young man, environmental issues were one of his concerns.
Peter`s update from Thailand. Tues 30 June. Local Time: 10pm.
Well, it`s been another hot, humid and sunny day here today so I took myself off with the camcorder down the road a little way and into Trat town centre. There is a huge and busy market with lots of interesting local foods and other curiosities that I wanted to film. Naturally, with it being so hot I had to call into one of the local hostel bars (lol) which is where I met and got chatting to Mark, 50 something, who`s been traveling over here for the last two years. An interesting chat with another like minded adventurer. He`s a software developer and works online and so can work from anywhere in the world as long as there`s an internet connection. He drives a car which has tinted windows, like 99% of the cars over here, and was telling me that when he drove over the border into Cambodia recently, he was pulled over by the police. Apparently tinted windows are illegal in Cambodia. When it came to pay the roadside 'fine' the police captain asked him, "How much have you got?". This, unfortunately, is often how it is over here, particularly in nearby Cambodia. Beer money for the 'mafia police'. He offered then the equivalent of a fiver but was told it wasn't enough. They eventually settled on £10.
'Thai`s and the Spirit World' (or How to Win the Lottery in Thailand)... In this Must Watch video, Peter from Lovely Planet tv witnessed a very unusual Thai spirit removing ceremony recently on the driveway at the English Club in Trat, Thailand. Disclaimer: This video is not intended to offend my many Thai friends who may be spiritual. I have much respect for Thailand, its religious beliefs and its people. I hope they will see it in the good humour it was intended.
